Hey everybody,
Jon Williams over here at reThink. Just wanting to pose a question to all of you Family Experience users. What is the one part of Family Experience Script you hope never goes away and what part of the scripts can you do without? Let me know.

I can do without the interview parodies...Baba Wawa and the like. I noticed each time we did these we lost the kids' attention. I like Sam Shovel, but it's hard to pull it off live...I always produced these as videos, but made the production very video heavy. Also could do without the infomercials as Rapid Response - if Rapid Response is to engage and interact with the parents, I don't see how that accomplishes that. As if ReThink needed more video production on its plate...I would love to see these informercials as produced videos that can be used whenever and where ever as a reminder to the parents to use the application tool.
I am partial to the Credible Host/Comic Host routine since I am the credible host. I think that's a good way to welcome and introduce the virtue. We are making our comic host a "Goober" kind of character as the mechanic in our KidStuf Garage.

Hey there,
What styles would you prefer for the WORD segment. Thanks for your insights and responses.Posted 2 years ago # -
I agree with the previous post as far at the Word segment goes. We found that the sit down interviews are hard on the kids. Maybe it is the lack of animation. Sam Shovel is not a hit with the kids but the adults love it because of the adult humor in it. We did Baba Wawa once but a few families that have children with speech issues approached to see if there was any way I could change that character. Kids with speech issues are constantly being teased at school and they wanted church to be a safe place. Adults laughing was sending mix signals even though they were not laughing at how something was being said, but rather what was being said! Segments that include comic host, lots of movement and volunteer participation are always a hit. All four word segments for Sept are great!
Our Game Host makes Rapid Response so much fun that when it is not included families miss it!
I love the intro skits because it really does set the stage for everything else that follows!Posted 2 years ago # -
We use all but the sketch characters - don't have a drama team at this time. The Babba Wawa and Sam Shovel I think distract from the message. I suppose it could be pulled off and the message clear if done more professionally, but my rag-tag team of missfits (just kidding...) seem to loose the message. I also cut out the commercial forms of Rapid Response, I love the Name that Virtune and other question segments that the Comic Host does here.
For Word: I like the Storyteller to do the main part of it, and to use audience help for acting out parts like last Sunday (week 1 of Oct).
