we offer our Family XP on Saturday(7pm) and Sunday (11am) right after the adult church. we do the show the first weekend of the month. It's when we start the new virtue and what better way to get the parents to know what their kids are learning then "showing" them the same week their kids get introduced to it. then both the family and the parents are on board.

Yes, the Family Production and Family XP (experience) are the same thing. There are a wide variety of churches who do it from as little as once a quarter to as much as once a week. Many churches do choose to do it once a month, since each month is a new virtue. A lot of it depends on your churches schedule and resources.

Quick question...I just finished reading Think Orange a few weeks ago, and have started exploring the different web sites, so I'm still new! I'm a little confused about the differences (if any) between the Family Production and the Family XP. Are they one and the same? Do most churches host this once a month?

Thanks for your feedback!

We switched from doing FP weekly on Wed. nights to doing it once/month on Sunday nights. The best thing about it is that the kids leave church wanting to come back that night, in the past they had to wait a few days to return and the desire to come back had waned in light of other activities and school.

We considered Friday or Saturday nights, but landed on Friday. We found that families looked for family "entertainment" on Friday nights and saw Saturday as sort of a "school night" since they had to get kids to bed early for Sunday morning. So, we really leveraged the "night out" alternative. You could: create invites that look like movie/theater tickets, use stantions and have greeters placed in a movie theater kind of set up, serve a pizza dinner package (slice, soda, cookie or whole pizza etc.) and set up resturant like seating, use the Virtue posters to add the look/feel....Our families had no problems handing out tickets and inviting friends in their neighborhood. It was great!

Is anyone doing a FAMILY XP on a Saturday night?
If so, what does your schedule look like?
Is it working?

____
We are currently doing a family xp on Wednesday nights (weekly).
We are in need of adding an additional service and we are thinking about doing a Saturday Family Weekend.
(Family XP (before or after) a weekend service)
We are thinking about only doing once a month.

Any thoughts?
