Vision casting is essential when engaging unchurched parents. Help them to see the need met by your ministry by keeping in mind that parents are silently asking you to do three things:

1. Give me the plan.
2. Show me how it works.
3. Tell me what to do today.

God Time cards, Refrigerator Door cards, and other resources included in reThink curriculums will help incorporate parents into the Orange strategy. Family Experience productions are another way to invite unchurched parents into your ministry in a relevant and non-threatening way.

Additionally, at the appropriate time, enlist these parents on the team by explaining, "I partner with you and you partner with me to help develop your child's spiritual life."

You can also incorporate quarterly "one phone call" family social events into your calendar. These are events which are easily set up with only one phone call - hayrides, renting an ice skating rink or bowling alley, etc.

Each age level has developmental needs that are more essential than our need for convenience in teaching one topic to all. The spiritual, emotional, mental development of preschoolers demands that we teach in a different style and have concrete lessons that help them see a clear picture of who God is and what He’s done for them. We help them develop the wonder of God so that they’re able to move on in their relationship with Him. When they reach elementary school, they can discover how they can embrace a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ and how God will work in them to create His character in them so that when they move into student ministry, a passion to influence and impact the world around them is fueled. Similarly, adults have different issues that need addressing. Although there may be an occasional issue that can transcend every age group, most age groups need some specific focus.
