Department:   Children’s Ministries 	&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Job Titles Supervised:   Children’s ministry staff, MDO staff, and Happy Face Preschool staff&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;General Purpose:  Provide leadership and vision to overall program development, coordination, implementation, administration and direction to staff and volunteers for birth through fifth grade.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Essential Duties and Responsibilities:&#60;br /&#62;
•	Communicate vision and purpose of children’s ministry to the church family.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Develop and implement “Orange” family ministry programming within the children’s  ministry.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Manage organization design, programming, and communications for children birth through fifth grade.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Hire and manage children’s ministry staff, directors within MDO and Happy Face Preschool.  Responsibilities include vision casting, organization, training, delegation, budget oversight, leadership development and conflict management.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Prepare and administer children’s ministry budget, annual ministry plan and personal growth plan.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Oversee consistent and on-going recruiting effort of volunteers for all children ministries.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Select, evaluate, purchase and monitor overall curriculum for birth through fifth grade.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Oversee weekly staff meetings, individual staff meetings, plans training and retreat events, provides opportunities for staff to attend conferences and networking events.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Provide programs and counsel to families with children including parent training and resourcing.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Attend weekly directors meetings.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Work up to 50 hours per week.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Attend at least one training seminar dealing with children’s ministry per year at Westside’s expense.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Other Duties:&#60;br /&#62;
•	Oversee classrooms so that they are stocked with necessary supplies.&#60;br /&#62;
•	Maintain supply and food storage closets&#60;br /&#62;
•	Conduct baptism classes&#60;br /&#62;
•	Serve on pastoral team for individual and corporate needs of the congregation.&#60;br /&#62;
•	As assigned by the Community Life Pastor&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Minimum Requirements:&#60;br /&#62;
Education:  College degree or equivalent experience required.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Experience:  At least two years experience in a children's ministry setting with a proven track record,or other background demonstrating application of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:&#60;/p&#62;

•	Family structure and child development&#60;br /&#62;
•	Team building and development&#60;br /&#62;

First Baptist is a regional church in WV that serves a community of about 70,000 people. We have 5 full time staff pastors. Necessary skills should include good communicator (with adults and with children), administrative skills, worship leading, video production (or interest in learning), graphic layout/design (or interested in learning), and a team player. This role will consist of overseeing the productions of our large group experience on the weekend for 2-5th grades and helping to lead large group for preschoolers and K-1st graders as well. This experience will include the use of video, worship, teaching, games – putting all these elements together into one seamless experience every weekend. We have 4 services (Sat @ 6pm; Sun @ 8:30, 10:15, 12:00) and we average almost 400 kids from ages 0-5th grade.
